Pastor Ensley became the second pastor of Hohenfels Baptist Church on January 7, 2018. He was born and raised in Virginia and accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 19. He enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly thereafter and was introduced to the Hohenfels Training Area as a Berlin Brigade Soldier on a training rotation in 1992. Many years later, he was stationed here as an Observer/Controller and with the 1-4 Infantry battalion. During this last assignment, he surrendered to God's call into full-time ministry and began praying about where God would have them go.
After departing Hohenfels in 2012, he separated from the U.S. Army in 2014 and entered the ministry full-time. After much prayer, Pastor answered the call to return to Germany as a missionary and accepted the invitation to serve with Pastor Radank at Hohenfels Baptist Church. He has served as an assistant pastor, church secretary, church treasurer, and has taught junior-high/high-school students at a Christian school. He holds a bachelor's degree in biblical studies and is currently working on a master's degree.
His wife, Kiki, was born and raised in Berlin, Germany which is where she met Bill. They were married in 1994 and Kiki accepted Christ as her Savior in 2001. It would be through her answered prayers that they as a family would become more faithful. Through many exciting times and under the influence of great godly men, God has brought them to Bavaria to minister to the Hohenfels Community. They are the parents of three children: Billy - who is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force; Kayleigh - a senior in high school who was recently accepted into a Christian college; and Johnny - a high school freshman who also has hopes of serving in the U.S. military.
